Jessi Gold, MD, MS
Chief Wellness Officer, University of Tennessee System Associate Professor, College of Medicine - Memphis Department of Psychiatry
Burnout shouldn’t be an expected outcome in healthcare, yet it often feels inevitable. In this session, Dr. Jessi Gold, a practicing psychiatrist, will share her personal journey with burnout, beginning with her experiences as a trainee. She will define burnout, provide some statistics, and explore the hidden curriculum around mental health and emotions in medicine, as well as the stigma and fear that prevent healthcare workers from seeking help—including her own struggle with self-stigma. Finally, she will discuss practical solutions for individuals and teams, highlighting vulnerability, support, and finding meaning in work.
